This year is the third time that WebIT was hold in Sofia, Bulgaria between 26th and 27th October, with more than 5000 visitors from over 45 countries. ZeneCenter – New chapter in the Hungarian online music!

3G Multimedia Ltd is proud to be the technology partner of Magyar Telekom launching its new music streaming service. The service, called ZeneCenter offers personalized interactive music experience based on the current mood of the listener. It gives the Hungarian music lovers an always available, great new, legal music alternative to listen to.

The number of the tracks in the database surpasses more than one million tracks of international and local music. In opposite to the traditional online music services, the tracks cannot be downloaded, but streamed to any major platforms – to computers with the help of a web browser, to smartphones with dedicated apps. The mood based approach of the service gives the possibility to the listener; to always enjoy tailor-made music experience, based on his preferences, let those be artists, genres, predefined schemes or even the tempo. These music preferences can be saved, rated, or shared with friends. Tracks, artists can be liked or disliked. Further great feature allows to skip or jump back to tracks, or set the weight of a given artist or genre.

The subscription based service has a 30 days free period, after that the monthly fee amounts HUF 300, which can be paid with credit card or by T-Mobile subscriber also with SMS. To use the ZeneCenter service the customer needs only a computer or an Android based smartphone (iOS, Blackberry, and WP7 to be supported soon) and an internet connection.

The service can be tried immediately at www.zenecenter.hu, and on any supported smartphone after the download of the dedicated app.

Between the 9th and 13rd of October, 2011 3G Multimedia Ltd participated the first time at the most successful and prestigious IT exhibition of the Middle East, at GITEX in Dubai. The exhibition delivers a leading platform for connecting over 3,500 domestic and international IT vendors with more than 136,000 ICT professionals.

Ty Cullen made a video on May 24th 2011 asking strangers on New York streets: “Hey You! What Song are you Listening to?”. The video gained more than one million views since than, and more than 70 copycats has been filmed throughout the world.

We loved the video so much that we filmed a Budapest version and also tried to collect all videos made to make an interactive map of them.

Mizu is the most viewed Hungarian music video

According to the research of 3GM Multimedia music streaming technology solution provider, “Mizu” of Fluor Tomi is the most popular Hungarian music video on Youtube. All Youtube instances of the song has been viewed by more than 10,600,000 cumulated viewers. The second place goes to the song of Csík Zenekar, titled “Most múlik pontosan”. However, if we accumulate the viewing numbers of all covers of the song, this would be the most viewed one. Adding the version of Quimby and Janicsák Veca total view goes up to 17.9 million. The compiled list contains all Hungarian music videos that has been viewed more than a million times. An interesting finding is that the most songs LL Junior and Tankcsapda have on the list. Wolf Kati‘s Eurovision song (both in English and Hungarian versions) had the fastest growing view numbers, followed by “Mizu” and its opera cover.

Methodology

We have collected the first 50 hits on all Hungarian artists from the Youtube Data API. From this list we’ve chosen the relevant videos with more than a million views. We’ve collected all the combinations of the artist/track pairs and cumulated the view numbers. We’ve counted the age of a song from the upload date of the first uploaded instance and calculated the daily average view as the ratio of the cumulated view and this age.
